  • Nice off the beaten path Inn

We stayed at Arawak Beach Inn in January of 2016. It is a clean comfortable Inn. At the time we stayed was the "off'" season. We were practically the only guests there, some weekenders did stay for a night or two.

From seeing it online I knew it was a gem. The minute we arrived Maria our host was most engaging. She always had so much information on where to eat, the best beaches, good deals on the island. Loved the honor

Maria and her son Kyle were absolutely amazing hosts during our stay and were very helpful giving advice on how to go about getting things accomplished.
The room we had was clean and suited our needs just fine. We enjoyed the pool several times after long days of running around. We enjoyed several meals there as well and I would highly recommend Maria’s chicken...it is so yummy. The laid back atmosphere was perfect for us and with the rental car it was very easy to scoot into The Valley to get things done. A wonderful resort to relax and enjoy Anguilla. Well done Maria!!

We were practically the only guests there, some weekenders did stay for a night or two. Staff was very accommodating to our needs and help to arrange a rental car, along with advice on how to get around on the island. There is a small "private" beach area close by, however if it is windy the surf can be very rough. All in all a nice place to get away from the world.

  • Perfect Honeymoon

We spent our Honeymoon at the Arawak. Room was fabulous, four poster bed overlooking the sea. Very peaceful with gentle breeze and the lapping of the waves. There is a small island opposite with restaurant and bar, small boats on the beach next to hotel will take you over when open. Maria who runs the Arawak is the best hostess ever, she also has a wonderful son and daughter. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them, always full of ideas and recommendations. Shoal Bay is a short drive away, white sand and turquoise sea…Paradise. Anguilla is a wonderful friendly island, we cannot wait to return.

  • Anguilla Comfort

Late making holiday arrangements and a plea for help took us to a four day stay at the Arawak. A phone call answered by Maurice found us a much needed room, took care of a rental car and received worthy coaching on how to deal with a first visit arrival in Saint Maarten - ferry transfer to Anguilla and moving from ferry terminal to the Inn...all of which worked out with ease thanks to the phone exchange.

Once the taxi dropped us at the Arawak, we were welcomed by Maria Hawkins and within no time; efficiently and graciously taken care of by Maria and young adult children - Katie, Natalie and Kyle. It was an immediate and welcome comfort that remained for all our time there. The range of experience ran from the "local" spin on how friendly (greeted and hugged us after the service) the Priest would be at mass when we asked the time and location...a quickness to deliver food to our suite when we were too lazy to make the effort for dinner in the dining room...the delightful and friendly climate at the bar and by the pool that included the mentioned family, others working at the Inn and Anguilla family friends that came by and we were introduced to.

With decades of extensive business travel, I have had the good fortune to stay at a number of great hotels and inns. However, none would compare with the immediate and continuing comfort of our time at the Arawak Beach Inn.

  • Amazing

My husband and I stayed in a newly renovated deluxe room on our recent "Babymoon." We had the absolute best time here. We actually ended up negotiating a combination of the Babymoon package and the Adventurer's package and found it to be an excellent value! They were extremely accommodating and easy to work with. Natalie was running the place while we were there and she was amazing. She felt like family by the time we left. She gave us advice on what to do and each day we looked forward to giving her a full report of all our adventures when we got back in for the evening. We ate at the restaurant several nights and really enjoyed it. The pizza was great and the traditional English Sunday dinner was wonderful. More than once, Natalie drove us to Shoal Bay so we could spend the day at the beach and picked us up when we wanted to come back. We were really impressed by the personal attention.

The Arawak Beach Inn is the perfect place if you desire a small place with a personal touch where you can relax and feel at home. We absolutely loved it and would go there again in a heartbeat. We can't say enough good things about Natalie and her family. Some things to do on the island: We recommend renting a car, at least for a few days, as you can cover a lot and there is a lot to see and do if you can get around (this is available in several of the Arawak package options). You can climb down a rope ladder to get to Little Bay, which is fun and a great place to snorkel. You can also take a kayak from Crocus Bay if you're not confident on the rope. Pretty much all the beaches are beautiful. Eat at Ken's BBQ downtown (it is literally a table and a tent on the side of the road but it is cheap and awesome), also eat at Hungry's food truck (the lobster quesadillas are delish). Drive over and have a look at Sandy Ground from the hill above it. It is a beautiful view.

One thing you can do close to Arawak is to head out to Scilly Cay. It is a little island with just a restaurant on it. If you walk to the end of the dock and wave your arms a little boat will come get you. The food is ridiculously expensive (although I'm sure delicious), but the rum punch wasn't too bad. We traveled to Anguilla in August, the week after the big island celebration (carnival?). A lot of things were closed and there was hardly anyone around. We actually didn't mind because we wanted a low key trip, but this would be something to take into consideration. Overall, we HIGHLY recommend the Arawak Beach Inn and want to thank Natalie and the staff for making it a wonderful experience that we will never forget.

  • Great Getaway

Delightful. Very clean room. Recent storm had brought down some foliage but that was being cleaned up. Pool was wonderfully clear. Fresh water option was very nice. Rooms were private and porch chairs a delightful place to enjoy the ocean view and breeze. Was apprehensive that our room had no air conditioning but evenings cooled off and sleeping was very pleasant. Area is quiet and rooms are positioned for privacy. Meals were ample and staff was eager to please. Prices were very fair and service excellent. A car would be an advantage.

I stayed in one of the newly renovated deluxe rooms and it was terrific! It had a wonderful ocean view, four poster bed with overhead ceiling fan and was very spacious. I did not rent a car and ate several enjoyable meals at the hotel. The strip of beach near the hotel met my needs for morning stroll and dip. My stay was in November so it was quiet and peaceful.

I was amazingly surprised by the Arawak Beach Inn. Hotel room looked much better than on (already very nice) pictures. Everything was very clean, neat, service excellent. Maria was the best host I have experienced so far. We were in Anguilla off-season so everything was very quiet and peaceful. I suggest renting a car to be able to travel to the most beautiful beach on earth - Shoal Bay East. Really great experience!

  • A month in Anguilla

I was lucky enough to have a whole month in Anguilla at the Arawak in June. I had a wonderful time and stayed in one of the new rooms, with four poster and my own shower/tub. The views over the sea were amazing and very peaceful. And there is always a great trade wind breeze blowing through, so it's cool and perfect for sitting outside on the wrap around deck reading a book.

The Arawak is perfect for relaxing and I ate there regularly. Great food and Maria and her staff super friendly and always go the extra mile to help with any queries or requests. Can't recommend it enough. If you want to relax and unwind, then the Arawak will hit the nail on the head for you.

  • Best hosts!

Two of my colleagues and I were there for two nights in May. We were there for business and we have spent a lot of time in the Caribbean. I admit the Caribbean is not my favorite place in the world but Maria and Natalie made our stay truly great.

The food was fantastic, the self serve bar is how every Caribbean Inn should be set up, and they were accommodating in every way that should be expected. The property was clean (Restaurant, Rooms, Pool, etc.), the food fantastic, and the atmosphere relaxing.... Don't hesitate.

From seeing it online I knew it was a gem. The minute we arrived Maria our host was most engaging. She always had so much information on where to eat, the best beaches, good deals on the island. Loved the honor system at the bar and the communal eating area. Some nights it was one big party. Maria even made a birthday cake for one of her quests and we all indulged !!! OH and the food was excellent !! Can’t wait to go back. Just a beautiful part of the island . Doesn’t get better than the Arawak !!! Hope to see you next year Maria and Natalie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
