Take some cold drinks with you, because there aren't any bars on Scrub Island. And there aren't any protected harbours on Scrub either, so it is sometimes impossible to land in high seas.
Book your excursion with the Arawak Beach Inn Staff and we'll send you off with a packed lunch and drinks.
When you get over to Scrub, you can just play on the beach in Scrub Bay where you land, or you can take a hike to explore the island. You will need walking shoes or sport sandals. Remember, Scrub Island is private property, except for the beach which is public, like all beaches in Anguilla.
First you start off with a wave a couple of hundred yards offshore. Don't worry the Scilly Cay staff will see you. They send over a little boat to transport you over to have a true "Gilligan's Island" experience. Once you get there the reality hits that there is no electricity, no charging up the electronics. Just settle back and enjoy one of the island's most potent rum punch.
Opened on Wednesdays and live music on Sundays.
Anguilla has approximately 33 beaches, but the most popular one is Shoal Bay East. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, plus rental equipment for snorkeling, parasailing and scuba diving.
Recent visitors say that a trip to this beach is an absolute must-see, and recommend renting a few beach chairs and making a day of it. While this beach is popular and known to attract crowds, recent travelers remarked they did not have trouble finding a quiet spot to relax.
Like other beaches on Anguilla, Shoal Bay East is free to enjoy any day, any time, with available parking on the main road.
Heritage Museum Collection
Discover the history of Anguilla at this fascinating museum, which includes a wide range of artifacts dating back to the 15th century. This Heritage Collection Museum is now a site of historical significance and a part of Anguilla’s heritage trail. Stop in. You won’t be disappointed.
Pamper yourself with a visit to this beautiful spa and restaurant/grill, located on the pristine sands of Crocus Bay. After a luxurious spa treatment, enjoy a bite to eat, or pick up a memento at the on-site shop.
Housed in a historic building (which was, until relatively recently, a working salt mill), the Pumphouse is an Anguilla institution. Stop by for a tasty dinner; stay for the live entertainment and friendly, fun atmosphere.
This tiny island is only reachable by boat and is perfect for day trips. Enjoy a meal and a drink at the restaurant on the island, swim and snorkel, or simply relax on the beautiful beach.
The Dune Preserve
No visit to Anguilla is complete without a stop to the home of Bankie Banx. The iconic musician is proprietor of this amazing beach bar, with its shipwrecked boats and incomparably cool atmosphere.
